About OBGYN Retraction Monitor
The OBGYN Retraction Monitor is a non-commercial research tool for browsing retractions and related author publications in obstetrics and gynaecology. It is not affiliated with Retraction Watch, OpenAlex, or the National Library of Medicine, and no data are monetised.
How to use it
Editors and Authors
Use simple search. Select a journal or an author to see what we hold. If the list is unmanageable, filter by concern level ‘strong’, by authors with two or more retractions, or by study type — RCTs, for example.
Readers and editors
Use multi-author search. For published papers or unpublished submissions enter all the authors (and/or ORCIDs if available) to see what we hold for the author group. If the list is unmanageable filter on institution.

‘All unmarked papers ranked’ shows the big picture. ‘Recent papers by authors with retractions’ shows what’s still being published. ‘Author rankings’ is similar to the Retraction Watch leaderboard, but for OBGYN.

OBGYN retractions from the Retraction Watch database, released under CC BY 4.0.
Papers written by an author with an OBGYN retraction from OpenAlex, authors linked by ORCID or OpenAlex author ID. OpenAlex provides open scholarly metadata including persistent author identifiers, released under CC0.
Study type (RCT, case report, review etc.) from PubMed, which provides journal metadata in the public domain.
Concern level
Reasons for retractions are classified, by this app’s algorithm, into concern levels. Strong suspicion of author misconduct; Ambiguous — the retraction notice does not settle the question; Citation-derived — e.g. a review retracted because it included data from a retracted paper; Honest error; and Administrative. Retractions and other unmarked articles by authors with retractions are listed separately. More details here.
